Nexus One Radio Ruined by Applications ?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Is your radio broken? The HTC/Google Nexus One is an awesome phone, but it sounds like everyone is still having major radio issues.  I know I frequently have issue's when I'm driving through a certain spot on my way home from work.  I'll frequently drop calls and when I look at my phone,  there will be NO data connection what-so-ever. What is the problem and why is it taking so long for the team of HTC, Google and T-Mobile to work out a solution?  At least they are all admitting that there is a problem and they are working on a solution. We've ...

Rumor: T-Mobile US training employees on HTC Desire?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010
HTC Desire 540x446

It's really confusing me now. First we heard that the HTC Desire will hit AT&T in May/June period, and now, according to Androincia, a manager at a T-Mobile USA store was being trained on several phones that are coming to the carrier this year, and the HTC Desire is on the list. They also said that they contact other T-Mobile employees and they said that their manager's are off for training. Does this mean the HTC Desire will hit T-Mobile soon? It's a rumor but i can see the truth in it. The Desire is almost similar to the Nexus One but ...

The HTC Legend is one of the best looking android smartphone's available in the market.  The HTC Legend is really a legendary phone and is also known as the successor to the HTC Hero .  We've heard lot about this phone and after the launch, we saw the HTC Legend on eXpansys with retail price and release date.  Then we heard that the HTC Legend would be coming to Sprint too.  Then Vodafone UK announced the price for the HTC Legend and an expected release for Vodafone UK in April. Now, the latest rumor is that the Legend is hitting the ...

Rumor: HTC Incredible to replace Droid Eris at Verizon?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010
HTC Incredible

I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news.  You'll have to make that decision.  I'm just sharing it you.  According to a reliable source at Berryscoop, the HTC Incredible will be replacing the HTC Droid Eris at Verizon Wireless. The Droid Eris will be discontinued from April 1st and the HTC Incredible will be released on Verizon Wireless on the same day. Berryscoop also said that Verizon is viewing the Incredible as their version of the Nexus One. Are you kidding me? It's not confirm yet so don't take it seriously. Stay tuned for more information as we find out the ...

HTC Supersonic spotted in a Video

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

In the beginning HTC created the Nexus One, then came the Supersonic. Back in January we were leaked the specs of the HTC Supersonic, an amazingly chic handset with the hottest specs since the Nexus One. With a 4.3" display and WiMax (4G) connectivity, the Supersonic is shaping up to be the next big thing in the world of Android. In February, Sprint announced that they will launch a WiMax handset this summer and really got the wheels turning. And now the first leaked video of the HTC Supersonic hits the web. Showcased by a mysterious gloved hand, the Supersonic looks like everything ...

Rumor: Verizon training employees on Nexus One?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

We know the Nexus One is coming to Verizon Wireless but the question is when? A couple weeks ago, we heard rumors and saw evidence that seemed to support the FCC approving a CDMA version of Nexus One that would be supported by VZW. And last week, Neowin reported that Verizon will launch the Nexus One during the International CTIA wireless show in the US on March 23rd. A few days ago,  BGR reported they received some rumor-filled emails from various customers and some rather knowledgeable reps. The emails state that Verizon has begun training some of its employees on an EV-DO ...

Android becomes sentient; tells you to go out more, watch less porn

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Okay, so Android hasn't advanced that much, but Tim Heath and Ryan Hickman, hobbyists from California, are working to let Android out of your pocket and interact with the world--without you. The bot they recently finished building — Truckbot — is still relatively simple. It’s got an HTC G1 phone for a brain, riding on top of a chassis with some wheels and treads.  They could have purchased the pricey $175 Oomlout kit, which includes wheels, motors and an Arduino-based brain. Hickman and Heath opted for making their own chassis. Here’s a full list of parts they used: $16 Bare bones Arduino $3 Micro ...

Droid Eris 2.1 Dump!

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Thanks to tipsters Trevin and TheDudesAndroid, it has come to our attention that XDA user RiverRunner, an unknown HTC worker from China has released a Droid Eris dump that's running the latest version of Android. A couple users have thrown together a makeshift ROM from the dump image. As always it looks like normal Sense with the latest features, such as the pinch-to-zoom homescreen feature. Below are some photos courtesy of XDA user ataranine. And now for a Rosie-less pic: Click here for the download link [via XDA-Developers]

Google Jumps In To Defend HTC and Android

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

This is what most of us have been waiting for, wondering when it was going to happen, asking ourselves "What does Google think about this lawsuit?". Well Endgadget received a statement from a a Google spokesperson saying: "We are not a party to this lawsuit. However, we stand behind our Android operating system and the partners who have helped us to develop it." What exactly does this mean for HTC in the fight against Apples outrageous lawsuit? Will Google be lending any help in HTCs legal defense, or maybe helping in some other way? It's hard to tell but whenever this trial ...

Linpack Wars – Battle of the Androids…update and more

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

The boys have done it again and the Nexus One, more specifically, TheDudesAndroid's JP1, is moving up the Linpack Android Top 10. For the past few days, certain members of the Android development community have been pushing the limits of the Nexus One to see just how super this "superphone" is. During their first round of attempts, the JP1 made it to the #10 spot with a Mflops score of 22.186. Yesterday, Android developer Chris Soyars blogged about their most recent victory: the JP1 has rested it's tired feet in the #7 spot knocking a few Droids down the charts and tying ...

Update On Apples Law Suit: A Look at half of the patents in question

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

This morning news came up all over the internet about Apple suing HTC over 20 or so patents that according to Apple, were patents that HTC stole. After reading a few stories that stated it was unsure what patents were being brought up by Apple, I did a bit of research and found out which patent was which. Not all twenty were included in the statement I read, but for the ones that are there I found info on. It's a long read, but if you're interested in what Apple feels that they should sue HTC over, give it a ...

Flash 10.1 to be supported on select devices

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Not all current generation phones will be able to use Flash 10.1 for Android once it is released in the next few months, but we had a suspicion that would be the case.  Though Flash has been seen working as a prototype on the G1 and had some support on the Hero, an Adobe forums post reveals that not all Android phone models will be supported. In response to a question about Adobe’s roadmap, an Adobe employee stated that Flash would begin appearing on Android phones “mid-year.” That employee also dropped this bombshell: “The HTC Hero will not be supported [because] it does not have ...

Android

Android developer MoDaCo has just released his alpha Desire ROM for the Nexus One. This is an ALPHA ROM, not even BETA, so as MoDaCo has advised, you probably won't want to make this your main ROM but it'll give you an idea of what you can look forward to in the future. From the ROM thread on XDA: What is it? As you all know, HTC have announced the 'HTC Desire', which is effectively HTC's version of the Nexus One. It shares a lot of the same hardware, but features cool stuff like HTC Sense and other cool apps (such as a ...

Modaco has stated he doesn't plan to release this ROM until he receives an unwatermarked version of it. Hit the jump to see the details about Modacos ROM. - If you rebuild the boot image replacing the kernel it runs. I'm running my ...

Nexus One 3G Connection Appears to be a Hardware Design Flaw

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

The guys over at Engadget posted a video a few days ago that shows a Nexus One dropping it 3G connection depending on how you hold the phone.  It sure appears like the Nexus One has some form of hardware design issue that needs to be addressed ASAP by HTC / Google. I think T-Mobile can be let off the hook for this one if the video has any validity to it. So now what happens to a phone that has a severe hardware design issue and all those people who have invalidated their phone warranty by unlocking the boot loader?  I ...

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

AndroidCentral has gotten their hands on T-Mobiles second newest phone, the limited edition MyTouch Fender. This phone has been very popular considering it just recently sold out. One of the biggest Android marketing pushes we've seen this side of the Motorola Droid has been from T-Mobile and the myTouch 3G line. And it's a testament to the popularity of the device that we now have a Fender Limited Edition (see our video hands-on), modeled after the famed guitars. And this has truly been a limited edition, as it's already sold out. You can read the rest of the review over at http://www.androidcentral.com/review-mytouch-3g-fender-limited-edition [via ...
