His "JesusONE" is the only Nexus that was able to overclock this high. There is no explanation as to why yet. Is anyone still questioning the potential of Android? Bye MyTouch 1.2! For a while.

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Well that lasted long. sadly you will have to wait until the spring season. Due to a low inventory, T-Mobile is temporarily removing the device from the Handset Upgrade program. There are other ways of getting your hands on one of these, but you can guarantee that the prices will go up for a used one. Do you own a MyTouch 1.2? What do you think of it? Tell us in the comment section. Source:TmoNews

Flash 10.1 to be supported on select devices

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Not all current generation phones will be able to use Flash 10.1 for Android once it is released in the next few months, but we had a suspicion that would be the case.  Though Flash has been seen working as a prototype on the G1 and had some support on the Hero, an Adobe forums post reveals that not all Android phone models will be supported. In response to a question about Adobe’s roadmap, an Adobe employee stated that Flash would begin appearing on Android phones “mid-year.” That employee also dropped this bombshell: “The HTC Hero will not be supported [because] it does not have ...

Nexus One coming to UK via Vodafone?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010
Nexus One

T- Mobile USA was the first mobile carrier to launch the Nexus One. And rumor has it that the CDMA version of Nexus One is coming to Verizon March 23rd. And now it looks like the Nexus One is going international. Telegraph.co.uk has reported that the Nexus One will be launching in the UK via Vodafone, and of course, on sale through Google.com/phone only. The British news site hasn’t named actual sources but says that those close to both companies have confirmed an April launch. As you guys may know, Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon Wireless. So it would seem only ...

More Shots of Firefox Mobile Surface

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

As we all know, Mozilla has been diligently working on bringing Firefox (or Fennec as it's known on the Mobile OS's) to the Android Operating System. Two new pictures have surfaced at the Firefox for Mobile Facebook Page of both the Droid (pictured below), and Nexus One (pictured above), Android's current hottest phones; running Fennec. According to one of the developers who commented back to the Facebook users, they are still working and testing big time on the browser and that we should stay tuned. I can only help but feel with the speed at which the Mozilla team is ...

The Android revolution

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

We've all experienced it at one time or another. First the shock, then disbelief quickly moving to annoyance and possibly anger. Then the sad resignation. I'm talking about Android discrimination. Lack of Android acceptance seems to be everywhere I look, from public transit apps, to specialized products, to services.  The mobile edition of the Toronto Star is called the iPhone edition. Want to play with a NASA lunar rover? Sorry, iPhone only. Even our beloved Nook, a device that runs on a version of Android isn't available to the Android mobile-toting masses. Why is there so little Android love? Let's consider the ...

Android is the faster climber in the mobile platform race

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Integrasco is a Norwegian consulting firm which monitors trends in social media to see what people are talking about. In their latest report entitled “The Battle of the Mobile Operating Systems”, they found Android had the most buzz in Q4 2009 with a 40% share of mentions. For 2009 they found the HTC Magic (myTouch 3G) raised awareness of the Android platform, but it wasn’t till the HTC Hero came out that the buzz started to take off. The Motorola Droid really placed Android on the map as it was the most discussed Android handset ...

Enomther’s TheOfficial Nexus1 v1.6.1 Exposed

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

While Enomther's ROMs have many advanced features built in, not all of them are activated when you first install the ROM. Instead, Enomther gives the user the choice of controlling these options themselves. Many of the different options are now controlled using the Spareparts application. On Enomther's previous ROMs there was a utility called ExpSetup you could run from the Terminal prompt that allowed you to customize your ROM. The new approach is much more user friendly and will only get better as Enonther is going to incorporate a full GUI explicitly for customizing his ROMs. As ...

T-Mobile Rolling Out Update

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Let me  just start off by saying, this is NOT the update G1 owners have been patiently waiting for. Instead, it’s a minor update exactly like the one the original myTouch 3G received earlier this month. The Android 1.6 update (DMD64) OTA is rolling out starting today, February 26th, and will gradually make it to the masses by March 15th. The update improves G1 user’s call performance and does not include any additional feature enhancements. To receive the update, G1 owners must have the required Android data plan added. G1 owners will receive a notification on ...

All U.S. Android phones to receive Android 2.1, but some will require a wipe

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Considering over 80% of our readers with Android phones are running an outdated version of the operating system, I think most of you will find this interesting. There has been some confusion over which phones would receive an Android 2.1 update and I am partially to blame. I authored a post way back in August that called into question the G1’s ability to receive future updates. Google eventually found a way to make Donut (Android 1.6) fit on the G1 and I was proven wrong. Since that time, I have maintained that the full ...

Verizon Nexus One to debut on March 23?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Verizon will release Google's Nexus One Android device on March 23 according to sources familiar with the matter. The Nexus One, originally released on T-Mobile in January, has passed FCC inspection for use on Verizon's CDMA network and according to a Google worker who wishes to remain anonymous it will be made available on March 23. Verizon will introduce the Nexus One on the day the International CTIA wireless show begins in the US. It's not yet clear whether Verizon plan to hold a press conference at CTIA regarding the launch. Pricing and tariffs are not ...

Lots of KiNgxKxKlair Eclair Hero 2.1 v1.3 Screen Shots

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I Fired up this ROM today to take a quick look and initial impressions are pretty good.  I still don't have a SIM on the T-Mobile G1 so a full test is out of the question but it seems pretty responsive and functional. Download the ROM and give it a try for yourself. In the meantime, I've taken plenty of screen shots to help you with you decide whether to install it or not. If you want you want more information about this ROM, you can head over to KingKlicks AndroidSPIN Developer Homepage.

Dell Mini 5 aiming to be mighty

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

First it was the Haleron, then the Entourage Edge, now the Dell Mini. It's a tablet-stravagana! New information about the Mini 5 tablet/smartphone from Dell has been revealed on Friday thanks to a comprehensive interview. Speaking to Laptop in a Thursday article, Neeraj Choubey, the general manager of tablets in Dell’s Communications Solutions Group, said the company is working with AT&T on offering the Mini 5 to customers. Choubey also revealed users will have access to the Android Market, just like a more conventional Android-powered smarpthone. The tablet is otherwise unique in that it will have a front-facing webcam that will allow for video calling. ...

Haleron Android Tablet Ships March 1st…only $199

Friday, February 26th, 2010
tab

I love gadgets. I love Android. I love Android gadgets. I want an Android tablet, coffeemaker, refrigerator, car, kid (this one is currently in the works), etc... At this point, we can go ahead and call it a little obsessive. But it looks like a little known company called Haleron is all set to help me entertain my obsession. They are releasing a cute (and by cute, of course I mean manly so don't be scared of it guys.) little 7″ Android 1.6 based tablet called the iLet Mini HAL. I'm not sure how I feel about the name. I don't ...

iPhone= Broken Noses

Friday, February 26th, 2010

This honeslty isn't an Android post, I just thought this was hilarious.  My friend (iphone users) was watching survivor, and got very excited during a scene.  In which case she threw her hands up and then iphone met nose.  She pretty much broke her nose, this just goes to show that iphone just hurts people. I can see this as a commercial, iphone breaks noses, android heals them =D.
